Frequently Asked Questions
Get quick answers to common questions about joining EXIT Realty.
How much money will I make in my first year?
Income is dependent on your prospecting efforts, market conditions, and ability to generate leads. Building a sustainable income takes time and transactions can fluctuate, but with the right support and systems, you can set yourself up for long-term success.
The EXIT Advantage
EXIT’s single-level residual income model means that as you build your business, you can earn income from transactions and team growth. This diversified income stream helps smooth out the ups and downs of the market, providing more stability than traditional commission-only models.
Is it realistic to earn six figures in my first year?
While it’s not common for new agents to earn six figures in their first year, those with strong sales backgrounds or extensive networks can achieve higher earnings. The key is focusing on building skills, systems, and relationships that compound over time. Success in real estate is a marathon, not a sprint.
The EXIT Advantage
EXIT’s 10/7/5 Formula allows you to build single-level residual income from day one. As you sponsor agents, you earn the equivalent to 10% of their gross closed commission, in the form of a residual, for as long as they produce with EXIT. The 10/7/5 refers to your status: 10% when active, 7% during lifestyle/retirement phase, and 5% for your beneficiaries. This single-level model (not MLM) means your income grows as you build your team, making six-figure and beyond earnings more achievable.
How much time does it really take to succeed?
Real estate requires a significant time investment, especially in the first 6-12 months. Most successful agents work 40 hours per week initially, including evenings and weekends when clients are available. It typically takes 3-6 months of consistent effort before you see steady results. The good news? As you build systems and relationships, you become more efficient.
The EXIT Advantage
EXIT’s collaborative culture means you’re not alone. Your broker and team are there to support you, answer questions, and help you avoid common pitfalls. Plus, as you build residual income through the EXIT Formula, you can eventually work smarter, not just harder, because your past work continues to generate income.
What ongoing costs should I expect?
Beyond initial training costs, expect $2,000-$5,000 annually for marketing, business cards, lockboxes, signage, MLS fees, E&O insurance, and transaction coordination tools. Many agents spend $500-$1,000/month on lead generation. Plan for $3,000-$8,000 in the first year, but remember: these are investments in your business.
The EXIT Advantage
As part of your membership, EXIT provides comprehensive marketing support, training materials, and technology tools that can reduce your out-of-pocket expenses. Our brokers are accessible to help you make smart investments and avoid unnecessary costs. Plus, the residual income model means your costs become a smaller percentage of your total income over time.
How competitive is the real estate market?
Real estate is competitive, but there’s always room for agents who provide exceptional service and build strong relationships. The average agent sells 4-6 homes per year, but top performers sell many more. Success comes from differentiation through specialization, consistent marketing, and outstanding client service.
The EXIT Advantage
At EXIT, we believe in collaboration over competition. Our agents work together, share knowledge, and support each other’s success. Instead of competing against your colleagues, you’re part of a team where everyone’s success benefits everyone. This collaborative approach helps you stand out and build a stronger business.
